Murraylands Enterprise Estate
In late 1997 a group of business owners joined together to fight against a road closure in their industrial area. Following their successful lobbying, they decided to form a permanent lobby group and in February 1998, Murraylands Enterprise Estate became an incorporated body. Aims of the Estate are to lobby, seek infrastructure improvements for the area as well as identifying key areas of concern amongst these businesses, develop a business plan, market and promote the group.
The Estate is recognised for its unique form of collaboration, values and principles by which they operate and in 2003 were awarded the regional SA Great Riverland/Murraylands Business award. This partnership of businesses successfully working together has enabled the recent implementation of the work experience, skill development and training pilot program "Steps to Success". In November, 2005 "Steps to Success" was awarded the Regional SA Great Riverland/Murraylands Innovation award.
